The ShopSabre IS-M Series is the first CNC Router in the world to be equipped with a Mitsubishi M8 Series Control. The IS-M Series features a reinforced, heavy-duty, one-piece welded structural steel tube frame construction with a massive, oversized structural steel tube gantry design. The frames and gantry assemblies are bed-milled for matched tolerances and stress-relieved to ensure accuracy and precision from the ground up. This system provides ultimate stability and performance while unlocking speed and accuracy not found in competitively priced systems.

Industrial Precision Frame

ShopSabre CNC frames are FEA-engineered and tested. Created here in Lakeville, Minnesota, they are constructed from massive, oversized structural tube steel, aerospace milled for accuracy, and welded for rigidity. Our stacked and welded design adds rigidity, providing more floor contact and better vibration control. Internally, the large tubes are cross-braced and stiffened to increase lateral rigidity.

Mitsubishi Servo Motors

ShopSabre IS-M machines come standard with the top-rated motion control in the world, featuring Mitsubishi AC digital closed-loop servo motors for higher speeds, greater accuracy, and less maintenance. These self-monitoring motors include glass encoder technology, providing increased precision and performance under extreme conditions. The IS-M controller allows for on-the-fly control from the controller to the motor with true closed-loop communication to the machine controller (Mitsubishi M8 Series).

ShopSabre CNC frames go through some of the world’s most advanced processes to ensure accuracy, including precision milling of contact surfaces for bearing and rail placement, along with ball screw mounts. A machine can only be as precise as its foundation, and the frame on a ShopSabre is built to a tolerance above the competition.

Ball Screw Technology

ShopSabre IS-M machines come standard with 3-axis ball screw drives, with the Y-axis (long axis) providing twin screws and anti-whip technology to deliver 7 times more rigidity than competing machines, resulting in unprecedented performance. The ball screw technology used at ShopSabre is the latest in the industry, providing less backlash than rack-and-pinion systems. Thanks to our Whip Free Technology, it increases cutting accuracy and delivers superior edge finishes. When it comes to drive system technology, ball screw technology will outlast most comparable machines by 3 to 4 times with minimal maintenance required.

Vacuum Performance
The vacuum option on the ShopSabre IS-M Series provides quick and easy zone control with an integrated hard pipe connection for increased airflow. The reserve tank, built into the frame, ensures that your vacuum remains consistent!
HiFlow Vacuum Technology
ShopSabre CNC HiFlow Vacuum Technology increases surface flow by up to 50% compared to the competition. This results in higher holding pressure, increased power, and overall better performance. Each vacuum table on the IS-M Series is milled at the factory by your machine's cutting head, reducing the need for gaskets and bolts to secure the spoil board. Our exclusive HiFlow Grid makes nested manufacturing a breeze.
Super Z Technology
ShopSabre IS-M machines are available with Super Z Technology, designed in-house at ShopSabre CNC. This extends your Z-axis travel to 16 inches while maintaining incredible rigidity, thanks to our FEA-engineered stiffener technology for tool plate strength. Combined with our Z-axis servo motor control system and air balancer technology, this provides some of the quickest tool changes and drilling cycles in its class!
Precision Linear Guide Technology
ShopSabre CNC utilizes the latest in CNC bearing technology with 25MM linear guide rails and bearings on all axes. Each axis is equipped with 4 large-body quad bearing rollers with wipers, increasing the machine's performance by keeping the surfaces clean. This system enhances machine rigidity under load, resulting in better performance and reduced maintenance, thanks to ball bearing technology.
Industrial Precision Gantry
Like our frames, the gantry on the IS-M Series is built with massive, heavy-walled 6"x12" tubes that have been FEA-designed and tested. This construction allows for higher cutting forces and reduced vibration. The bearing spacing on our gantries is larger than that of our competitors, allowing for better handling of routing forces while increasing cutting speeds.
Industrial Gantry Uprights
As with everything on a ShopSabre machine, the gantry uprights are built for industrial-grade performance. Made from high-quality North American structural steel, these uprights increase the bridge clearance to a standard 12 inches and enhance rigidity for improved cutting quality and versatility.
Bi - Directional Rotary ATC Option
The ShopSabre rotary carousel ATC option is the most advanced automatic tool changer (ATC) technology on the market. Unlike competitor systems, this ATC carousel is direct-driven through a planetary gear connection with bi-directional tool changing. This allows the tool changer to travel the shortest distance to the next tool, regardless of direction. Additionally, this ATC system operates without belts or slides, making it simple, fast, and effective.
